Yes, it's true. I'm sure almost everyone knows by now. Eric proposed in front of the arch on Friday night, 12/18/08. I'm so excited to plan everything and to be his wife! We had a lot of fun on our "Christmas vacation", which included a trip to the arch, the budweiser tour, getting lost in the ghetto, and shopping! Check out the pictures!
In Desparate Need of an Update!

So.. where to begin.. life has been pretty good, stressful, but good. I am preparing for finals, woohoo!
Eric and I have been doing some exploring. We did a mill tour one weekend and went to Grand Gulf and AR another weekend.
Halloween was a lot of fun. Eric and I went to Doug and Spencer's house on Friday and Amy's on Saturday. We were both Hooters girls!
November was a pretty laid back boring month. I got bronchitis and was sick for about two weeks, so Thanksgiving wasn't as exciting as I would have hoped!
New Roommate, New Building

Last Monday, Melanie and I began the room transfer process. Around 5 pm that evening, we had already received our new information! We moved into Blair-Shannon, Shannon Tower, on the 4th floor. This is a 6-person suite style room, with 3 two person bedrooms, a living room, and a full bathroom. I have really enjoyed the change so far. Moving in was really hectic, but things have settled down since then.
I had my first tests last week, one in Chemistry and one in Sociology. I got an 87.5 on the Chem test and a 99 on the Sociology test. This really raised my spirits and gave me some hope about getting into the Nursing program, until I went to Public Speaking today. I gave a speech Tuesday about scandals and found out that I got a C on it. I have never got a C on anything in my life! On top of that, I was only one measly point away from a B. So that was pretty upsetting, but I will just practice my butt off for the next one.
I'm still going to the Vine on Wed. nights and small group on Mon. nights. I love the Vine, but havent gotten too excited about small groups yet.
I have some pictures of the new room but they arent on my computer yet so I will post them next time!

School is going great! I really like it here. My classes dont start until 10 or 11 so I get to sleep in (although I almost missed my 10am class this morning!) I'm taking Sociology, PE, Chemistry, Intro to University Life, and Public Speaking. I think I will do pretty well in these classes, I'm hoping so at least! I need around a 3.8 GPA to get into the MSU nursing school. Next semester and the following 2 semesters I am dropping my hours down to 12 so I can concentrate better. I came in with 13 credit hours so I don't really need to take a lot of extra classes.
I've found a couple pretty good coffee shops here, The Mudhouse and The Potter's House. It's so much different then Cabool, always somewhere to go and something to do. I haven't tried too many local restaurants but I think MSU hosts an event called "Sample Springfield" where local restaurants bring free samples, so I'm pretty excited for that.
I've been going to the Wednesday night service with Second Baptist in Springfield. Daniel Hood is the minister and he does a great job and the band is awesome. It's a nice change for me. I'm actually excited about going to church for once. I even signed up for small group bible study which meets on Monday nights.
Eric and I are still together and I go home every weekend to see him and he usually tries to make a trip up here on his bike during the week if he can.
Next week I begin the process of changing rooms, not because my roommate and I don't get along, but my best friend Melanie and I are going to move in together. I'm pretty excited for that.
Well, that's my life currently!

I'm sitting at work with 19 minutes left of my last full day at Woodpro. I'm really excited to leave, but it will be a huge change after working here just one month short of five years! I'm creating this blog so that everyone can stay updated with my life. I am moving to Springfield on Friday the 22nd, and classes start on Monday the 25th. It should be "the best four years of my life!" We will see, right?
